Position Overview & Specifications

The main purpose of your role is to support the Zzoomm ISP network; troubleshooting/diagnosing, fault resolution and configuration. You’ll be part of a small Networks team, with lots of opportunities to learn new skills (including hands-on configuration and upgrading of network devices) and be exposed to every aspect of the network.

Your key responsibilities will be...

  • Provide network operations support – Responding to network alarms, troubleshooting/diagnosing, finding the cause of a fault and seeing the fault through to resolution.
  • Work with third-party carriers/suppliers to diagnose problems between our network and theirs.
  • Implementation of network configuration, making routine changes and carrying out network upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain scripts used to generate network configuration.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining network documentation.
  • Adding network devices into monitoring systems and maintaining the monitoring platforms.
  • Performing network upgrades and other routine maintenance
  • Physical installation of network equipment and cabling tasks
    You may also be required to undertake other related duties not listed in this Job Description from time to time, these may be ad hoc, but will support the needs of the business.

Skills & Experience required...

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth business will really help you
  • Keeping your word – you’ll do what you say you will do
  • A good communicator with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Approachable and adaptable
  • You may have some knowledge of networks.
  • You may have GCSE or A level IT qualification
  • GCSE at grade c (or 5) or above in Maths and English required
  • Full DL
