Position Overview & Specifications

GIP Claims Case Manager (Part-Time, Job-Share or Full-Time)
Location: We’re flexible! Ideally, you will be within commutable distance of Swindon
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience

The opportunity:

As a result of the exciting growth within Zurich Corporate Risk, we are looking to recruit an Income Protection Claims Case Manager to join us on a permanent basis, this is a fantastic development opportunity for anyone looking to take the next step in their career. This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

What will you be doing?

As the Claims Case Manager, you will support the team with our Long-Term Claims and Inactive claims. You will build trust-based relationships with a portfolio of customers and be required to manage your own caseload, with the longer-term aim of managing claims from notification through to admittance. You will be writing up basic medical reports, writing case management plans and setting future review dates. There will also be an element of calculating benefit payments.

Some cases will require you to communicate effectively and sensitively with vulnerable customers, which may also necessitate some difficult conversations.

Who are we looking for?

    • You may have worked in Medical Underwriting or have some Claims management experience
    • Proficient in Excel & Word
    • Have numerical skills
    • Ability to be empathetic and understanding
    • Passionate about customers and driving through Continuous Improvement
    • Ability to cope with varying workloads, pressures, and priorities
    • Good time management and organisation skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to quickly establish professional and effective working relationships with your customers.
    • Able to communicate effectively and sensitively with vulnerable customers, which may also necessitate some difficult conversations
    • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills
    • Personal contribution into our positive and supportive team culture
    • Excellent attention to detail, with strong focus on quality and root cause analysis.
