The position:
We are seeking an Assistant Venue Managers (AVM) in Bristol to work in our busy Venue. The AVM will work with the the Venue manager to ensure that all Whistle Punks events under their watch are safe, fun and run by a happy team. If you have experience of managing a team ideally in fast paced hospitality or retail role then this opportunity could be perfect for you. We offer sensible hours of 37.5, 25 days annual leave (exclusive of bank holidays) and a quarterly bonus scheme.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
- Acting venue manager when the Venue Manager is not on duty.
- Ensuring events are safe, fun, well organized
- Completing pre/post event checklists daily
- Reporting potential hazards using the appropriate channels.
- Dynamic risk assessments of the venue
- Ensure consistency of experience as per the Whistle Punks training documents.
- Ensure that the venue is always clean, presentable and fit for purpose.
- Delegating work to other instructors.
- Flexible working though all shifts include Saturday working. Occasional working cover in other Venues
Personal Specification:
Essential:
- An experienced communicator who is able to adapt their style accordingly
- Good computer literacy and understanding of online systems (specific training provided).
- Takes the initiative
- Willing to make suggestions for improvements
- Experience of managing a small team
Desirable:
- Coaching experience either with teams you have managed or been part of
- Experience dealing with customers complaints and difficult customers
- Experience in H&S
- Experience in supplier relationships
