Position Overview & Specifications

Since launching in 2009, Back on Track has become a well-established and successful IAPT service and is expanding with these exciting Qualified PWP posts at Band 5 (inner London 20% weighting) for suitably qualified and experienced PWP. Our office has good transport links (Hammersmith Station), amenities and a vibrant high street all within 5 minutes’ walk.

At Back on Track, we arrange in-house masterclasses on Step 2 interventions, group facilitation, and increasing clinical knowledge of Step 3 interventions for your development and assessment skills. We also have opportunities to attend formal training on working with those with Long Term Health Conditions, and how to supervise.

Clinicians are able to develop and run their own therapy groups with a Step 3 clinician, and manage their own projects within the service. This offers the opportunity to develop not just your clinical practice but also skills in project management, leadership and supervision.

Back on Track also offers a wonderful wellbeing at work focus, and the appointed candidate would be welcome to become a member of the wellbeing team.

Clinical caseload expectations: 6 x triage assessments (1hr) per week. 22 x GSH treatment sessions (30mins) per week. Total: 17hrs clinical work per week.

You would also be responsible for running one workshop per month, attending meetings and completing admin; with adjustments for providing supervision or running a group, or project area, holding a champion role, and at least one evening session (12pm–8pm Monday to Thursday) per week. All staff are currently expected to work 2 days from the office, with 3 days working from home – this is subject to change according to service needs.

You will need experience of risk management and assessment, and Step 2 treatment of IAPT appropriate disorders. We are keen to fill gaps in experience though, through our comprehensive CPD and supervision programme, and we offer ongoing support via debrief and a senior duty at all times.

We have received positive feedback from staff for our approach in supporting working parents and those with caring responsibilities. Our service has won awards for its focus on wellbeing and we have a sociable and friendly team. As a result, we develop long-lasting and committed relationships with our staff.

We provide care and treatment for more than 800,000 people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries and care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.

We’re rated good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Together, we’re committed to promoting hope and wellbeing, working with patients, service users, carers, families and partners across the communities we serve.
