Environmental Scientist - Belfast

VANRATH are hiring an experienced Environmental Scientist for our public sector client.

The successful scientist will be carrying out ground water, marine water, leachate and landfill gas monitoring programmes at landfill sites.

Responsibilities

- Carry out interpretive analysis on scientific data, operate and maintain monitoring equipment and to make an effective contribution to the development and achievement of effective, safe and efficient operational scientific services.
- Undertake chemical or physical sample analysis of water samples obtained throughout the site and prepare and package samples for transportation for laboratory analysis.
- Undertake manual water level measurements within leachate and groundwater boreholes.
- Interpret scientific data and reports and liaise with or advise external agencies, developers, consultants, and government Departments regarding the outcome of, or improvements to environmental monitoring.

Salary

£17.53 per hour + holiday pay + pension

Requirements

- Relevant Degree in Science / Environmental Science / Chemistry / etc.
- 1 + years' work experience in environmental science / water sampling.
