Full-time, Open-ended (Permanent)

Edinburgh College of Art is looking for a full time Research Projects Producer & Inspace Gallery Manager to join the team on an open-ended basis.

The Opportunity

To coordinate and support the industry, outreach and engagement activities across the portfolio of projects and research undertaken by ECA academic members of the Institute for Design Informatics, as well as the associated teaching programmes. Responsibilities include working alongside academics to identify new research and engagement opportunities, and manage associated project’s development and outputs. Implementing the Institute’s communication strategy to promote its activities through channels such as web, social media and print, including monitoring, evaluating and capturing impact of these activities. Managing Inspace, the Institute’s public engagement gallery, developing and owning the strategic aims of the gallery, in liaison with the Directors and Institute Manager. Managing the Inspace gallery includes, but is not limited to, programming, financial planning, and overseeing internal and external use/hiring of the space.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus relevant work experience
  • Experience of programming and managing exhibitions and events.
  • Experience of social media and external communications.
  • Experience of dealing with a variety of project partners and a range of professionals from high academics to technicians to catering staff.
  • The post-holder will need to be a good communicator with a personable manner.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills are necessary.
  • Team player who can also work on own initiative with most of the work being independent.
