Finance Reconciliation Officer - Student Loan Company (SLC) Income

UEL seek a new Finance Reconciliation Officer to join our Income and Credit Control team to manage the Student Loan Company account. The role would suit an experienced Finance Reconciliation Officer, used to dealing with and reconciling large amounts of finance data, reviewing queries, and working to deadlines.

Each year, approximately 9000 students apply to the Student Loan Company (SLC) for a loan to pay for their tuition fees. Could you be responsible for undertaking the tasks relating to the invoicing, collection, reconciliation, and maintenance of the SLC/SAAS income?

The post holder will need to manage the attendance reconciliation with the SLC database and be responsible for returning confirmations and differences throughout the year. Further responsibilities of the role include weekly management of SLC/SAAS remittances, identification and management of unpaid invoices, and liaison with SLC/SAAS to resolve issues. Additionally, you will be expected to produce reports as required by the Income Manager and other senior colleagues.

A successful candidate will have strong numerical skills, relevant technical accounting knowledge, reconciliation skills, teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently. You will also need to be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, who can clearly communicate complex financial matters to finance and non-finance staff, at all levels of the organisation, and external stakeholders and auditors.

This role will offer hybrid working conditions, with the position holder working across both the Docklands and Stratford campuses, as well as from home.
