About us

The Department of Imaging Neuroscience, incorporating the Leopold Muller Functional Imaging Laboratory, The Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging and the Max Planck-UCL Centre for Computational Psychiatry and Ageing Research (at Russell Square House), is an interdisciplinary Department for neuroimaging excellence. We bring together clinicians and scientists who study higher cognitive function using neuroimaging techniques. Our goal is to understand how thought and perception arise from brain activity, and how such processes break down in neurological and psychiatric disease.

About the role

We are currently recruiting two Departmental Administrative Assistants to join the department’s wider administrative team, support the smooth day-to-day operation of the department and ensure that those visiting the department, in particular volunteers taking part in studies, are greeted courteously, helpfully, and professionally.

As a key and first point of contact for the department’s visitors, staff and researchers, the Departmental Administrative Assistant is a busy, varied, and interesting role that offers the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of activities. The role requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL and requires a highly organized and efficient individual with a professional attitude, willingness to help, and the ability to always remain diplomatic and tactful.

The roles will include operating the department’s reception desk, and so the working hours of the roles will be staggered to ensure the reception is open to visitors between 08:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday.

If you have any queries regarding the application process, please contact the Institute of Neurology HR Team (ion.hradmin@ucl.ac.uk).

Informal enquiries regarding the role can be addressed to Keith Tritton (k.tritton@ucl.ac.uk).

A full job description and person specification for this role can be accessed below.
