Position Overview & Specifications
The study will involve teaching chemotherapy cancer patients to insert a limited number of acupuncture needles into points on their own body to enable them to self-manage the symptoms of their cancer and the side effects of chemotherapy treatment. The study will employ a pragmatic mixed methods randomised parallel-group exploratory design, comparing self-acupuncture plus standard care versus standard care alone.

The role will involve recruiting patients to the study, assisting with the organisation and running of self-acupuncture teaching workshops, completing quantitative outcome measures with participants, conducting qualitative interviews with participants, and the analysis of qualitative data. The study is funded by UCLH Charity Fund.
