Transport Planner

As part of our Transport Planning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and legal planning of over 100 vehicles across multiple UK locations. With your experience in all aspects of transport planning and a background in the general haulage sector, you will be tasked with maximizing vehicle utilization over the working week and securing back loads to minimize empty running.

We are looking for a self-motivated and driven individual with excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work to deadlines and meet targets. You should be a team player with great communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with our depots and customers as required.

As a member of our Transport Planning team, you will have access to state-of-the-art software packages such as Mandata and Paragon, and will receive full training to ensure that you are computer literate to a high level.

In addition to your daily responsibilities, you will be assisting the Transport Planning Manager to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively. The role involves shift patterns Monday to Friday 09.30 until 19.30 and some weekend and lone working will be involved as the team becomes established and grows.

To be successful in this role, you should have a good knowledge of transport legislation, previous experience working in a distribution environment, and be IT literate with excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
