Assistant Buyer/ Buyer

Unineed is an online lifestyle retailer and ecommerce service provider. The Unineed websites offer over 150 premium designer brands and thousands of products across skincare, make up, fragrance, luxury handbags, watches, sunglasses, clothes and other accessories.

Unineed targets the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. Currently the company ships to over 150 other countries from its delivery centres in Glasgow and Hongkong, China.

Unineed is ran by a group of young entrepreneurs. Our company is fast growing on the international market. In addition to our Unineed retail business, we offer an 'end to end' solution to help local traditional retailers/brands transform to digital based international retailers, by building and marketing their international websites or selling through Unineed websites.

We aim to become the industrial leader for cross-border ecommerce in the next 10 years and become a global leader in the next 20 years, to help brands, retailers and manufacturers expanding on the oversea market through digital channels.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Buying Department and grow with our company. Buying experience is not essential as we can provide training for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage offers and orders for existing suppliers

· Develop suppliers for new ranges of products, brands and categories to drive growth

· Product research for different marketplaces and develop product ranges for the specific marketplace

· Complete regular competitor analysis to ensure our product range and prices are competitive

· Budgeting for buying

· Purchasing of office and logistics supplies

· Negotiating with suppliers to reduce costs, whilst building strong relationships

· Contacting suppliers for product availability and lead times

· Identifying savings and business improvement opportunities

· Relentlessly driving purchase cost down

· Assisting with the accuracy of stock levels

· Forecasting, allocation and stock replenishment to maximise sales and conversion

· Negotiation of exclusive offers

· Liaise with third party logistic companies and dealing with import and export documents

· Following up on shipments

· Making sure all products purchased are correctly uploaded on the website

· Liaise with the marketing team to make sure all products are planned in the promotions

· Work closely with the marketing team to understand the market trends, sourcing new brands and products based on these findings

· Analyse performance by product type and marketing channel, highlighting any gaps and opportunities

· Producing product performance reports & buying KPIs

Requirements:

• You need to be a visionary and understand Unineed's long-term global vison
• You need to have strong leadership skills
• You need to be a 'people person' to fit with the company culture and team
• Analytical skills
• Previous logistic experience is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication skills
• Good negotiation skills
• Strong commercial awareness, high attention to detail and accuracy in reporting information
• Ability to build trust and develop strong relationships both internally and externally
