At U&S Clothing, we are expanding our embroidery team and are seeking an Embroidery Machine Operator/Assistant who is an enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude. Full training will be provided and an immediate start is available.
As an Embroidery Machine Operator/Assistant, your main duties will involve operating machines and ensuring quality control. This includes running, setting up, and maintaining single-head embroidery machines, checking customer orders for relevant information, setting the embroidery machines to the correct functions, loading them with the correct materials, framing garments in a straight position, and liaising with the line manager.
Other responsibilities will include maintaining equipment, such as replacing needles and cleaning and oiling machines on a daily basis before and after shifts. You will also be responsible for quality inspections of garments, selecting correct threads, positioning logos to meet specific customer needs, and packing garments.
We may also require you to work in other areas of the business as needed. Some administration and organizational experience would also be beneficial to the role.
A successful applicant for this position should be confident, able to stand for long periods of time while operating machinery, have high levels of concentration and exceptional attention to detail, possess strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills, be practical and methodical, reliable and responsible, clean and tidy, able to work independently and use initiative to get the jobs done accurately and efficiently, enthusiastic about developing process and product knowledge, be a key team player and willing to direct/train less experienced colleagues as required, have computer skills, and be used to working to strict production deadlines.
