Position Overview & Specifications
Perform mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance checks and general maintenance to the company's fleet of light and heavy vehicles, trailers, auxiliary equipment and components.
Reporting to: Garage Manager
Working hours: Mon - Friday 7:30am to 5:45pm daily, Sat: 7:00am - 12:30pm
Overtime begins after 39 hours
Based at Tracey Concrete, Sligo Road, Enniskillen, BT747LF
- Carry out preventative maintenance and routine scheduling servicing in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations
- Attend vehicle/machine breakdowns at various locations and carry out repairs to ensure minimum down time
- Trouble shoot and fault find any defects on machines and carry out repairs as necessary
- Small amounts of fabrication work may be needed from time to time
- Mentor the apprentices within the maintenance department
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies
- Observe and comply with all good working practices within the company
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES
English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above
- Experience in heavy plant/heavy goods vehicle maintenance, minimum 3 years
- Knowledge of auto-electrics, engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical systems
- A good understanding of I.T.
- The ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Ability to keep records up-to-date
- Good housekeeping
- Ability to follow instructions
-Ability to work flexibly, on own initiative and as part of a team with a “can-do” attitude
- Demonstrate a good work ethic
- Excellent organisation and communication skills with a good understanding of health and safety
- Driving licence (HGV entitlement preferred but not essential)
-Willing to Travel
Desirable: - An ability to weld
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £15.00-£18.50 per hour
