Position Overview & Specifications
- Driving and delivering specific data analysis projects to support the delivery of high-quality risk-based audit services across the business;
- Support the delivery of the data analytics strategy, including enhancing the toolset and processes; and
- Assisting in managing strategic relationships with key GIA stakeholders by ensuring the risks associated with the assigned projects are fully considered and by managing data, data feeds and solution development in line with firm policies and procedures.
- Executes dynamic risk-based data analytics project(s), ensuring the activity focuses on the most significant business risk areas. Monitors and anticipates business change and assesses the potential impact on the project. Provides an appropriate level of expertise to ensure that the requirements are risk assessed and executed in order of priority.
- Manages their workload of assigned audit resources, ensures the quality of data analytics projects and that all data analytics work complies with GIA’s methodology and standards.
- Delivers project(s) on time and to agreed budgets, presents status updates to management on a timely basis and agrees to commercially viable project outcomes.
- Influences stakeholders to provide/manage/analyse/interpret data in line with good data management and governance practices. Thereby enhancing internal control practices and improving the overall strength of the project data control framework by delivering high-quality audit reports and focused audit opinions.
- Uses influencing, negotiating and diplomacy skills to manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships, and works closely with GIA colleagues to ensure project outputs align with expectations.
- Works as part of an effective team and contributes proactively to achieving GIAs performance objectives.
- Responsible for delivering specific data analytics projects to time and cost budgets. The GIA function aims to have 2-5 data analytics assignments per year.
- Primary accountability to the HoA, with responsibility for educating/advising the GIA team on data analysis queries.
- Direct line responsibility for audit staff working on specified assignments.
- Travel may be required, depending on area of coverage (up to approximately 10%) as deemed necessary, to complete engagements and to fulfil stakeholder engagement, building deep relationships.
