Position Overview & Specifications

We are opening a new service and are looking for Children’s Residential Care Workers to support to young people with complex needs and emotional behavioural difficulties.

Hours

37.5 hours per week

Salary

£21,283.00 annual salary

In addition to this basic salary, you can also earn £87.28 for each sleep in and an additional 25% enhancement for all weekend hours worked.

    Two yearly salary increments.

    27 days annual leave rising to 30 days after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years plus bank holidays.

Main Responsibilities

As a Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a residential care team providing support for children’s physical, emotional and social care needs.

You will work on your own initiative and as part of a team. In your role as Residential Support Worker, you will support children/ young people to explore and develop them as individuals and to help them overcome any adverse childhood experiences.

You will work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the children and young people as individuals.

  • You will be expected to key work children and young people.
  • You will plan fun activities supporting the children & young people to participate

About the service

The service is based in central Manchester, providing support for young people with emotional & behavioural difficulties.

About you & Qualifications

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in a similar background, but it is not essential as full training will be provided. You can also work towards your level 4 in Children, Young People and Families practitioner qualification.

Excellent communication and people skills. You will liaise with other staff, parents/carers and will need to write reports.

Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.
