Position Overview & Specifications
Applications are invited for the post of Instrument Scientist in the area of Cloud Microphysics, working for the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS). The initial appointment is tenable from 1st April 2023 for 3 years. This is a dynamic and demanding role and will involve considerable flexibility and the ability to prioritise tasks. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of cloud microphysics measurement facilities and data to the UK atmospheric science community, as part of the NCAS Atmospheric Measurement and Observation Facility (AMOF). This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate who will play a central role in the acquisition, installation, commissioning and flight testing of a new suite of cloud physics equipment for the UK atmospheric research aircraft (FAAM), recently awarded as a part of a £50M investment to upgrade the facility (https://www.faam.ac.uk/mid-life-upgrade/).
Salary will be grade 6 or grade 7 per annum, according to relevant experience. – see the associated job descriptions and further particulars for details.
