The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) seeks an Education Programme Manager - Professional Development and Learning to manage and enhance our professional development and learning programme for educators.

The role:
The official title of this role is Education Programme Manager - Professional Development and Learning. In this role you will manage and enhance our professional development and learning programme for educators, developing internal capabilities, external collaborations and service propositions. You will take on management of a team (typically 2 - 4 direct reports) and key accountabilities for our education professional development and learning programme which contribute to and facilitate transformational change in the quality of teaching. This will involve programme and proposition planning, working with colleagues across a range of education programmes and RSC initiatives, and collaborative projects with other organisations, with responsibility for a £100k budget.
What we are looking for:
Experience in classroom teaching, teacher training or teacher professional development.- Good working knowledge of STEM education and challenges facing teachers and learners in UK and Ireland, supported by a degree in the chemical sciences or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in developing and successfully implementing professional development and learning experiences for educators, with experience of applying learning design.
- Excellent team working, team leadership, management, and staff development of a geographically dispersed team.
- Experience of building and maintaining networks, with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan and prioritise work, to meet deadlines, and to support allocation of work within a team of employees and suppliers.
