Hours: 3 days a week (26 hours average)
Salary: £41,265 pro rata for 3 days per week
Based in: Covent Garden, London
The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings.
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Hats & Jewellery Senior Technician to join our busy team on fixed term basis, ensuring that all activities are carried out to the highest possible standard of safety, efficiency, and quality.
Can you demonstrate any of the following:
- A Millinery, Theatrical Costume and Design course qualification to degree level, or comparable qualification/degree in a relevant craft skills area an advantage.
- A proven track record in craft skills workrooms with a major production theatre or venue, or comparable film/TV experience.
- Proven practical making experience and a good knowledge of fitting and alteration techniques.
- Knowledge of traditional methods of construction, periods styles, and history of costumes an advantage.
- Able to accurately interpret design concepts from scale drawings, sketches, plans and verbal instruction.
