Position Overview & Specifications

Assistant Manager required to join our expanding team, working in a Luxury Dog Resort, consisting of luxury Boarding Kennels, doggy day-care, canine hydrotherapy centre and a canine obedience training centre.

We are a large and extremely busy facility that is located in Hightown Merseyside, in a semi-rural location (own transport will be required). We are set in 13.5 acres of farmland.

The centre opened in 2019 and despite the Pandemic has proved very popular and continued to grow, which means we are now expanding our team.

The assistant Managers role is to work alongside and support the Manager and all other staff in a day-to-day role. This will include administration responsibilities, to be a point of contact for team members from the reception and dog handling departments and to be a hands-on additional member of the team who will have no issues to step in to help in reception or help out exercising or feeding the dogs in our care as the need arises.

The centre is extremely busy and operates 24/7, so weekends and late nights will be included in the successful candidate's role although the principal hours expected to be worked will be during the day.

We operate doggy day-care Monday - Friday and the boarding kennels 7 days a week, so at any one time there can be up to 80 dogs on the site. We take any breed of dog so the successful candidate will not only be extremely comfortable around dogs, but will a competent dog handler and be happy to interact with all breeds of dogs.

The successful candidate will need to be competent to work alongside the existing team, be able to organise day to day operations in a firm but kind manner. We cannot stress enough we work as a team here but team structure is essential.

You will need to be comfortable in a front of house role and support reception in all tasks, including answering phones, and emails and dealing with customers and their issues on a face-to-face basis. You will liaise with the Manager on matters such as rotas, organising holidays and shift-cover in emergencies.

The role is a 4-day shift and will either be: Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday to Wednesday. Hours to be determined when we find the perfect candidate.

Candidates applying for this role will need to have relevant experience, be confident, competent, authoritative and pleasant and of course the need to love dogs is essential
