Salary: £25,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
About Us
The Parks Trust is an independent charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and green space in Milton Keynes. This includes the river valleys, ancient woodlands, lakesides, parks, and landscaped areas alongside the main roads that represent 25% of the city.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join The Parks Trust to conserve and enhance biodiversity in the ever-growing city of Milton Keynes. As an assistant biodiversity officer, you will assist and support the biodiversity team with ecological monitoring and volunteer management, whilst having opportunities to develop and manage conservation projects.
This post joins our experienced biodiversity officers as part of a dedicated environment team who strive to improve the Trust and Milton Keynes. Joining the team will enable you to gain valuable experience in biodiversity, sustainability, and green/blue infrastructure and develop your ecological and wider environmental skills. This role would be ideal as an entry level or early wildlife conservation career opportunity for someone looking to build their knowledge and specialisms. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the implementation of The Parks Trust’s new Biodiversity Action Plan 2023 – 2030.

About You
You will have a passion for wildlife conservation and have excellent attention to detail required for ecological monitoring surveys and reports. You should be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, and also able to work with larger groups of volunteers. A positive and can-do attitude is important alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills, as the role will be working with other teams and external stakeholders to deliver biodiversity outcomes. Flexibility to work in a range of environments and weather conditions is essential along with the occasional evening and weekend working.
