Sales Ledger Clerk (London)

Job Function:

The purpose of the Sales Ledger Clerk’s role is to maintain the sales ledger function, including the robust management of all aspects of credit control. The role will also be responsible for the daily posting of bank transactions.

As a Sales Ledger Clerk you will be working both alone and as part of a team with efficiency and commitment to complete your work and strive to maintain the business performance targets

Principle Responsibilities:

Setting up and maintaining customer accounts including credit checks where appropriate

Entry sales invoices onto the system

Daily posting off all bank transactions including bank receipts enabling reconciliation of customer accounts

Robust chasing of all debt and the highlighting of any debtor issues to management

Issuing of customer statements

Skill Requirements

Competent on Microsoft Excel and Word

Enthusiastic, organised and capable of dealing with a large customer base

Presentable, personable and confident– the candidate must be able to chase debt appropriately and converse with customers and staff of all levels including Directors

Able to multi task and be flexible with day to day activities

Diligence and accuracy are essential

Must be able to prioritise workload in order to meet month end deadlines

Candidate must be prepared to ‘muck in’ and help other fellow employees

All candidates must be prepared to learn and take on new duties

Previous accounting experience is required
