An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit for a role at the heart of the Law Society's campaigning and political influencing activity.
The Law Society is the independent professional body for over 220,000 solicitors in England and Wales.
With a general election on the horizon, there is huge opportunity to campaign, drive up the political agenda and influence on key issues such as access to justice, the rule of law and supporting greater international trade and cooperation.
This is an exciting role at the heart of our public affairs team, supporting on our influencing and lobbying work on behalf of our members. This is an ideal role for somebody looking to begin a career in public affairs and campaigning.
What we're looking for
As a Public Affairs Assistant you will support the Public Affairs team to deliver its core functions and implementation of public affairs activity and to support other core team functions such as campaigns, speechwriting, monitoring and stakeholder management.
We're looking for candidates with a keen interest in politics and campaigning, and someone who meets the following criteria:
- Experience of working within a government, parliamentary, public affairs, campaigns or related environment.
- Good written skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and develop innovative ways of communicating.
- Able to work effectively in a fast paced and busy environment.
