Salary: £20,130 (pro rata for part time)

The Kirkwood welcome applications to join our dedicated In-Patient Unit team as a Nursing Assistant. In this role, you will assist the nursing team to provide a high standard of direct nursing care to patients and their families. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team, developing good communication between patients and families and the nursing staff to maintain patient well-being and comfort.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ (level 2) in Health and Social care (or equivalent), have strong communication skills and experience of working in a caring environment.

The Kirkwood provides specialist palliative care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees with advanced, progressive illnesses at any time from diagnosis to end of life, respecting their individual needs and wishes. Care and support are also provided for their family members, friends and carers, both during illness and after death. Through education, training and partnership with others, we improve care for everyone affected by a life-limiting illness in Kirklees.
