Position Overview & Specifications

The Equal Group is a forward-thinking Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) consultancy that is currently looking for 3 Associate Consultant Interns to join us for a six-week work experience programme.

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to work as part of a small team in a start-up environment, flexibility is vital as well as being self-motivated to make decisions and drive initiatives to support our common goal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management skills would be advantageous as you will be working across our portfolio with dynamic demands to manage.
  • Someone with strong analytical skills, who possesses a high level of attention to detail.
  • A passion for EDI and making a positive contribution to organisations and the people that work within them.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the delivery of projects for a portfolio of clients, focusing on helping them achieve meaningful change through attending focus groups, note-taking and assisting at meetings with clients.
  • Supporting our lead consultants to collect, analyse and interpret data about the client’s business and/or sector to identify weaknesses and problems and their causes.
  • Contributing to and editing reports and other written outputs e.g. collating findings, recommendations and suggestions
  • Supporting organisational learning and outreach activities, including internal learning events, public webinars and workshops, and the development of internal and external facing materials and resources.
  • Support in the designing and managing of strategic and operational interventions to improve the diversity and inclusion efforts of existing and potential clients by designing workshops and slides.

What we can offer:

On-the-job training will be provided for this role so previous experience is not necessary. However, any consultancy, project management or data analysis experience you may have would be beneficial.

Flexible working hours, albeit aligned to the needs of the business, to provide a ‘best in class’ service. Our ‘office’ opening hours are 9am-5pm but we work to accommodate employees' personal commitments also. Additionally, this role is fully remote although we do hold in-person team days regularly at our Birmingham office.
