Food Packaging Machine Operator

Operating a VFFS, (vertical form fill and seal) packaging machine.

We have been making Biltong, (beef jerky), in Chichester since 2009 and looking forward to the next 15-years !

We are a small successful manufacturer looking for food machinery operators and food production assistants to join our growing team. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to :

• First and foremost, operating the packing line, 70% of your time
• Assisting running the biltong production process
• Dealing with raw beef from slicing and marinading by the ton, (all carried out by large equipment, no butchery skills required at all), to curing and hanging beef, then harvesting dried product 6-days later, then sorting and packing the finished product. Full training provided.
• Using large scale industrial machinery with full training provided
• Working as part of a small team
• Undertaking Food Safety and Health & Safety Training

The working hours are the standard 8 hours per day, with half an hour unpaid lunch break and two 15-minute paid tea breaks. Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £22,000.00 - £26,000.00 per year depending on experience, with room for financial growth for the right candidate.
