Position Overview & Specifications

The successful applicant must hold a valid FLT licence (counterbalance / reach). Please confirm this on your application. CPC would also be an advantage.
The Bury Black Pudding Company Limited are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their growing and expanding business, working as part of a team in the Warehouse. The Warehouse is responsible for all goods in and out of the factory so the ability to work alone and as part of a team is essential.
The Company objective is to become the world's leading brand in Black Pudding and one of the truly great UK food companies. Anyone wanting to join our organisation should be motivated and driven by achieving the highest standards.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • Picking customer orders.
  • Dealing with the public. (drivers, customers, suppliers)
  • Understanding / experience of stock rotation.
  • Putting incoming stock into the right location.
  • Supplying internal departments with the goods they need.
  • Daily stocktaking.
  • Delivering customers' orders locally using Company vehicles (up to 3.5T) when required.
  • Working to HACCP programme (critical control points), accurately recording checks and results on relevant documentation.
  • Adhere to strict Quality and Food standards.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Driving license & FLT license essential.
  • CPC license an advantage (if not held, we will provide a CPC license to the right candidate)
  • Good reading, writing & numeracy skills, as recording information accurately on internal and supply chain traceable paperwork is essential.
  • Relevant experience essential (preferably in the food industry)
  • Good attendance and timekeeping.
  • Ability to adhere to work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Flexible with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Be enthusiastic and conscientious and understand or be willing to learn the principles and application of Food Safety.
  • Have a proactive approach to excellent warehouse practices.
Summary:
  • Hours of work – 40 per week.
  • Days – 5 shifts per week. (Monday to Friday, Saturday overtime on a rota)
