Position Overview & Specifications

We have a great opportunity based at our Dunstable campus for 2 Lecturers in Animal studies to become key members of our Animal sciences department.

As a Lecturer in Animal studies, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

Delivering effective, up-to-date and stimulating learning opportunities, leading to success and progression for our learners. As well as underpinning your teaching activity with timely completion of all administration duties and professional development.

Our ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience and experience in Animal Science, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification in relevant subject area
  • Teaching qualification equivalent to Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (or willingness to work towards)
  • Level 3 or above qualification in maths or English related subject
  • Level 2 qualification in maths and English
  • Assessor Award (or willingness to work towards)
  • Internal Quality Assurance qualification

Contract Type – Bedford College

  • 1x Full time opportunity: 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year
  • 1x Part time opportunity: 22.5 hours per week (0.60810 FTE) / 52 weeks per year
  • 45 days per annum (plus public holidays), pro rata for part-time
