This is an exciting opportunity to join the Force Intelligence Hub Team based at Reading Police Station. You will join a small team of experienced officers who assess, research and develop intelligence, in order to disrupt offenders and safeguard the vulnerable. This is one of the most privileged roles in the organisation where you can be particularly influential in the fight against crime.

You will identify threats, risks and harm likely to impact on the welfare and quality of life of the residents and visitors to the Thames Valley Police area. You will communicate relevant intelligence at daily and operational briefings and update a daily intelligence briefing for the Local Policing Area (LPA). You will also be tasked to develop the intelligence picture within the LPA, involving work both in and out of the office.

A good standard of education, including excellent numeracy and literacy skills is required along with a high level of computer literacy and proven experience of using Microsoft Office applications. You will have proven research skills with the ability to problem solve along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will also need to be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision while also working as part of a team. Previous experience of working in Intelligence is desirable for this role.

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
