Want to kick-start your career in a great role in local government… or are you looking for an opportunity to develop your skills in a policy and partnership environment?
Fancy taking on a job where every day is different, collaboration is the norm and the opportunities are endless?
If you have a positive, can-do attitude, are willing to go the extra mile, believe in local democracy and are excited by new challenges, then we want to hear from you!
The title of Policy Officer may not sound terribly exciting, but looks (or in this case, job titles) can be deceiving. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an ambitious person to take their first or next steps into a career in local government and you’ll be working for an organisation that will support you every step of the way. Working as a member of the Policy team within the Strategy & Innovation Service, you will gain first hand experience of working within a busy policy environment, working with a variety of services across the Council to take forward their strategies and key priorities and providing support in their performance management and reporting function, as well as building external partnerships. In addition, you will help develop and implement strategies using the application of a variety of public engagement methods and behavioural change interventions, underpinned by research and evidence, to bring about effective change to meet policy objectives and reduce inequalties.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking individual who wants to work in a local government environment, is keen to broaden their knowledge, and is committed to their ongoing learning and development. In return, we can offer a friendly environment where you are empowered to use your initiative, learn from others, and given the chance to fulfil your potential.
Closing Date: 5pm Monday 3rd April
Interviews will take place in the council offices in Andover on Wednesday 29th March 2023
