Assistant Accountant

We are currently looking for a new Assistant Accountant to join our Peterborough Finance Team.

As an Assistant Accountant, you are to provide administrative and financial support as part of the Corporate Finance team to companies within the wider AIIC group. This is a newly created position, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to shape the future of the role and will be encouraged to use their initiative to add benefit to the company where they find the opportunity. The role will include a wide range of responsibilities with a primary focus on the timely and accurate reporting of subsidiary results to internal and external stakeholders.

This role involves but is not limited to:

Bookkeeping for several group entities

Daily bank reconciliations and postings

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts

Liaise with management teams to ensure individual company needs are being met

Monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Provide commentary and analysis on key balances

Provide assistance in the annual audit

Assist in the preparation of VAT returns

Requirements:

Ability to plan and prioritise to meet deadlines.

High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Ability to work under own initiative.

Strong communication skills, both verbally and written

AAT or similar accounting qualification

Experience of accounts software packages

Understanding of the controls and systems environment

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
