Salary: Grade 7 £31,411 to £35,333 per annum
Location: Singleton Campus
Contract: This is a fixed term position for 6 months duration starting 01/04/2023
Hours of work: 35 per week
Main Purpose of the Post

The Department of Biosciences at Swansea University are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work on the project ‘Optimising sticky traps for Western Flower Thrips and Whitefly using visual modelling’ funded by the BBSRC and Razbio Ltd. The role will involve using visual modelling of pest vision to improve sticky trap design, and testing proposed designs in field trials.
The successful candidate must possess a degree in a relevant field (e.g. ecology, biology, computer science), and a PhD is desirable. They will have experience of conducting research of publishable quality, and ideally experience of image analysis and running field trials.
