Are you looking for a role that has a key part to play in helping to achieve our contract aims and ambitions?

The Highways and Transport service within the Environment, Transport and Infrastructure directorate is responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance and improvement of all highway and transport assets, delivering many of our services through key contracts. It is regarded by residents as one of the most important services provided by the Council and operates in an environment with significant political engagement. As such, the service manages significant financial, safety and reputational risks and must ensure the contracts operate and evolve in this context and deliver quality, effective and value for money success.

The role of Contract Support Officer is part of the Strategic Contract Management Group and reports to the Senior Contract Manager.

The main responsibilities of the role are to provide project management and business administration support across a wide range of operational and leadership teams to enable key aspects of essential contract management to be successfully achieved. This will include such things as organising meetings, preparing agendas, collating presentation packs, taking minutes and maintaining action, risk and contract change logs.

In order to be considered for shortlisting, we would love to hear;

  • About your ability to disseminate information and create reports, minutes and updates that are distributed to a wide range of people
  • Your ability to manage and prioritise your own work and diary to meet the role requirements
  • Your experience of providing contract management support ideally in construction, engineering or environmental services contracts
  • Your experience of working with a range of stakeholders to deliver agreed objectives

There is a degree of flexibility with regards to when hours are worked which is combined with time spent in Merrow and remote working, all of which can be discussed at Interview.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
