2023 brings exciting changes and transformation to our 0-25 Family Help and Adolescent Services in South Tyneside. Aligned to local and national family policy reform, we are keen to bring the very best practitioner to positions which champion and deliver our bold ambitions for children and families.

We have established new roles to enable the delivery of measurably improved outcomes for children, young people and families. All roles will provide an approach and culture which is in tune with South Tyneside’s vision and values of being clear on where we are, where we need to go and how we are going to get there; encouraging and supporting comprehensive development and learning opportunities; enabling a clear alignment between what we need to achieve and the resources we have available to achieve that; and making fair, informed and appropriate decisions.

Early Years Families Information Service Administrator

The postholder will assist the Early Years Team Manager to increase awareness of the childcare offer and provision, supporting the cascade and response of information to the Early Years sector, parents/carers and other professionals via telephone, email and in person. The role will deliver impartial advice and guidance around childcare and promote the uptake of free early learning.

The postholder will maintain the Families Information Services (FIS) information system and assist in the preparation and production of statistical data and financial monitoring, and relevant returns to Department for Education (DFE) and other Local Authority departments and South Tyneside Council management teams to show the impact of the service.

We are seeking applicants who will bring a can-do approach, with a positive energy and strengths based aspirational outlook for the families and communities they are responsible for serving. A sound understanding of ICT systems and an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels is required, but most important is the enthusiasm to assure our services are the very best they can be. Postholders will bring experience of dealing with customer enquiries, updating marketing materials and literature, and working in an advice service.
