The postholder in this Band 7 Clinical Psychology post will work closely with the Senior Clinical Psychologists and colleagues within the multi-disciplinary MHID Team to provide specialist and comprehensive assessment and evidence-based interventions for children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental conditions, intellectual disability and associated mental health difficulties.

The MHID Team is a supportive multi-disciplinary team including a Consultant Psychiatrist, Speciality Registrar in Psychiatry, Principal Clinical Psychologist, Senior Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologist, an Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist, an NAS Senior Educational Psychologist and a both a Team Administrator and an Administrator with Assistant Psychologist Duties. Intervention is varied, ranging from direct work with young people with a range of presentations and needs, work with their parents or carers (informed by Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) principles) and joint work with other agencies and disciplines. Intervention care planning and delivery is also supported by the multi-disciplinary complex formulation meetings held within the team. The MHID Team also provides professional consultations to other agencies or services around the child or adolescent and their family.
