Position Overview & Specifications

Summary

Are you passionate and able to think creatively to deliver exceptional results? If so, we have a great opportunity to work within the Transformation team that could provide you with the challenge and reward you are looking for. We are changing the way we deliver our services across the Council, becoming more digital and trying to provide our customers with the best possible customer service we can.

We are looking for somebody who can enable us to make the best use of our drive towards digital, typically by identifying suitable processes to be transferred. This role needs someone who is good at building relationships on all levels, making sure stakeholders are involved and kept on side. Teams need to reshape their approach to customer service to meet the needs of the customer and communities, and Transformation takes the lead in driving that process and cultural shift.

The role covers relationship building, leading implementation of continuous improvements to services, engagement, communication, analysis, reporting, plus much more. You’ll need to be proficient at data analysis with Excel, able to visualise data and draw conclusions from what that data is telling us. We are also looking for individuals familiar with process mapping via Visio, and good writing skills for devising webpage content and online forms that are easy for our customers to understand.

You’ll need to be self-motivated, comfortable working with ambiguity where the end goal is clear but the route to get there isn’t, and be able to cope with a wide variety of tasks that will make each day feel different.

The behaviours you demonstrate are equally as important, so we are looking for someone who is committed to “going the extra mile” for customers and colleagues, with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and respect for others that will enthuse colleagues and be an example of our organisational values.

If you are keen to drive business efficiency, innovation and optimisation by making processes work better, we want to hear from you!

Please read the Personal Specification and Job Description for more detailed information on the role, and do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

We operate a hybrid working policy, where teams determine their own working arrangements to fit their individual and team needs. Within the Transformation team we are primarily working from home, with an expectation to attend in person monthly team meetings and occasional additional meetings and training as required.

From January 2023 until May 2023 we are taking part in a 4-day working week trial. A 4-day week is when full-time staff work one less day per week (4 days instead of 5) but still get paid the same salary. It is not the same as compressed hours, which is working the traditional 37-hour week over 4 long days. A 4-day week for a full-time employee at the Council will consist of 30 hours. For part time staff, the amount of hours reduced would be calculated via a pro-rata reduction. A helpful way of explaining this arrangement is that staff will need to get 100% of their work done, in 80% of the time, for 100% of their salary. The purpose of this trial is to better support the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, while still delivering an excellent service to our residents.
