Position Overview & Specifications
We are recruiting for a Product Manager within the NPD Team.
Main Responsibilities Include:
· Managing the product lifecycle for both branded and customer product ranges. Working closely with the NPD Manager on new product launches, and with Account Managers on existing product changes to ensure the smooth introduction and exit of products into the business.
· Co-ordinating and approving all product briefs prior to commencing the introduction process, working with NPD and Account Managers to ensure correct creation of product briefs for range launches, raise and allocate material and product codes and maintain records.
· Setting up and managing the critical path plan for new product launches and existing product change, by customer, from product brief to delivery, and managing weekly critical path review meetings with all internal departments / stakeholders to ensure product introductions run to required timescales.
· Managing and co-ordinating the packaging artwork approval process, working with Technical, Marketing and Account Managers, as necessary.
· Co-ordinating and communicating with buying and operations to ensure materials are ordered in line with critical path timings.
· Co-ordinating with Account managers on seal samples and customer sign off prior to launch.
· Responsibility for final product sign off before specs are released to production.
· Managing product lifecycle, discontinuation and exit strategies working with Account Managers to reduce waste and close out redundant materials.
· Communicating with UK and China teams, resolve queries and ensure key information is supplied in a timely manner.
· Working with the NPD Director and advise on any challenges and communicate this to relevant teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experience.
· Detailed product knowledge.
· Experience in customer facing meetings and communication.
· Proven track record of delivering results and working to strict deadlines.
· Product management skills and knowledge.
· Commercial business thinker.
· Ability to perform detailed analysis as well as commit to strategic recommendations.
· Ability to multi-task and time-manage priorities and deadlines.
· Independent and initiative-taking.
· Excellent verbal, written and graphical presentation skills.
· Strong relationship builder and team player.
· Professionalism and ability to influence.
· Packaging knowledge and skills.
