Position Overview & Specifications

We at Smart Vision It Solutions LTD looking for a Software Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions through development, testing, and support activities. They will also provide support to junior team members through reviewing and coaching activities. This role will require collaboration with other engineers across the development function.

The ideal candidate should have a strong functional and technical understanding of user stories and be able to develop them into working software using an agile approach. They should also have the ability to professionally judge when to run with an idea, as well as when to express an alternative viewpoint and put this across this in an appropriate manner to drive excellence and innovation. In addition, they should possess strong problem-solving skills and exercise sound judgement when identifying and resolving issues.

Other key responsibilities include designing and developing software modules and business process logic, taking ownership of the scope, content, and quality, coaching and guiding fellow engineers, breaking down complex work into smaller pieces for implementation, and executing code reviews. Candidates should also be able to self-upskill on new technologies and programming languages as required to support the needs of the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Website development based on agreed specifications and graphical designs
  • Design and code front end development delivering our customers and audience the best customer experience possible encompassing responsive design and mobile interface compatibility.
  • Develop user interface concepts and scalable web applications
  • Code base is well structured, modular and efficient. Being able to maintain and improve a pattern library using progressive enhancement
  • A focus on web accessibility to ensure all interfaces are as accessible as possible to at least an AA standard
  • Take technical responsibility for your code within an front end engineering environment
  • Constantly improve yourself by learning new technologies and concepts following best industry practices
  • Work collaboratively alongside the engineer team and ensure we develop and code the best product
  • Liaise with other engineers and Q&A team.
  • Learn about and champion best practices in code, architecture & processes
  • Understand how product needs to get built
  • Understanding business needs
  • Understanding technical roadblocks Extended Responsibilities:
  • Analyze site and page speed
  • Take proactive lead responsibility for projects with engineers outside front end team.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 3+ years of experience developing and launching websites and web applications
  • Highly proficient understanding of front-end architecture

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £28,386.61-£35,630.34 per year
