Simpsons Malt is one of the UK’s biggest malting companies with 150+ years of successful supply to brewers and distillers with a customer range from the smallest craft and microbrewers to multi-nationals in the UK and around the world, and we are now proudly B-Corp accredited.

Some exciting opportunities have arisen to join us for the harvest season, between the period from July to October. We are looking to employ keen people to help us perform pre harvest preparation and assist with lab testing and intake during the harvest period as well as assisting on intake duties during harvest. Basic job details are as follows:

3 x Harvest Laboratory / Weighbridge vacancies:

• Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm exclusive of harvest, then 7am to 7pm during intake. Also a Saturday morning during intake. Work duties involve grain testing incoming lorries and drier samples. Operating the weighbridge weighting in and lorries during intake.

3 x Harvest Intake Outside Operators:

• Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm exclusive of harvest, then 7am to 7pm during intake including weekends. Work duties will involve tipping wagons into the correct barley holding bins, grain drying and maintaining high standards of hygiene on the intakes throughout the day. Taking drier samples and general site tidying.
• Once of the Outside Operator roles would be nightshift, Monday to Friday, 10pm to 6am exclusive of harvest, then 6pm to 6am during intake.

Key requirements:

• Basic computer skills, especially when programming equipment and ensuring machine controls are set correctly.
