Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Applications are invited for these exciting posts working across two areas of clinical expertise within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Department of Psychological Services. The two posts can be combined to make a full-time role, or part-time hours will be considered (please indicate this on your application).

The post will involve working primarily into the services below but there may also be opportunities to work into other settings within STH as we seek to enable the psychology team to work closer together.

Please note: Whilst this is a Band 8a post, applications are also invited from candidates at Band 7 who wish to take this post as a Band 7/8a preceptorship. Please indicate this in your application.

This vacancy is available at either Agenda for Change Band 7 or Band 8a. The Band 7 post would suit qualified or newly qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.

To be appointable at Band 8a, we would be looking for a substantial period of post-qualified experience in an area of clinical practice relevant to the specified posts.

If appointed to a Band 7 role, this will be a development role with progression to the Band 8a role upon successful completion of the in-house preceptorship programme and demonstration of the required competencies. It is expected that this is achievable within a period of two years, although this may be less if competencies have been achieved prior to coming into post.
