Position Overview & Specifications
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of SSENDIAS to work alongside our existing caseworkers and other team members. SSENDIAS is a statutory 0-25 service that provides parents/ carers, children & young people with up to date, impartial, confidential information advice and support around a range of education, health and social care matters relating to their SEN and disability.
For this role we are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic additional member to the team. Someone who is committed to ensuring the voice of young people is heard in SEND through advocacy. You will be an integral part of SSENDIAS and can bring innovative ideas and ways of working with young people to the team. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of working with young people. You will be working with young people from Y9 onwards to support them with their choices and aspirations for post 16 and onwards, to help improve their future life choices and preparation for adulthood.
You will have the ability to work closely with a wide range of professionals, including statutory and voluntary groups providing advocacy for the young person you are supporting. Working with the young people will be through a variety of different projects. Using existing and new skills to ensure inclusion and engagement of the young person to have their view and voice heard in the decision-making processes for their education.
This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities, which benefit you and the Council.
The post is in a hybrid way of working, involving working from home, in the office and in various face to face meetings in schools and with other professionals to suit service need.
