WEEKEND AND SCHOOL HOLIDAY CARE ASSISTANT TO DISABLED BOY AGED 17 & MOTHERS HELP AROUND THE HOME. AVERAGE OF 36 HOURS A WEEK £15 P/HR DEPENDANT ON EXPERIANCE.
I’m a busy mum with 17 year old twins one who has special needs and requires 24/7 care. I’m looking for a happy, organized and loving personal assistant for Alex who can help take care of HIS 24/7 2:1 care needs and help around the home with ironing & other light housework.
* Flexible hours weekends between 7am - 10pm and any hours full or part time during school holidays.
* Part of a small but amazing care team
* No experience required you’ll be given full training.
* We will pay and complete your Enhanced DBS Paperwork if you don't already have.
* Alex is intelligent, funny, stubborn and very cheeky
* No Special Needs experience required. We will give full training.
* Candidates should consider themselves as being totally reliable, Patient, fit and healthy with a friendly and caring personality.
* As Alex required 2:1 care there is always someone to assist / you're never left to move and handle
alone, however I would recommend having a strong back as he is dystonic at times.
* Hoist, Slings and Lift fitted at home to assist with moving, handling and lifting.
Alex is 17 years old, adorable, he's funny and intelligent with complex and challenging physical challenges. He attends a residential school from Monday - Friday Morning and is home weekends and school holidays. He needs 24/7 care on2:1 care needs. He loves going to the cinema. He drives a powered wheelchair with his feet as he doesn't have use of his arms or hands. and although profoundly deaf with the aid of his cochlear implant he can hear everything, He communicates with a PODD book, VOCA and mostly with his communication book by signing with his feet. He needs help to do everything we take for granted as "normal" you basically are his voice, and limbs.
Despite his disabilities he's quite independent minded and does far more than anyone would think. Everyone who works and meets him, love him, however he is a teenager and typically can act like one at times.
