Used Equipment Manager

The Scot JCB Group are looking for an experienced Used Equipment Manager to join our team in Glasgow.

Reporting to the Joint Managing Director and working closely with our Regional Managers, this role will be responsible for all aspects of our Used Equipment Sales. Our Used Equipment Sales are currently over £20million per year with stock varying between £6million - £9million.

The Scot JCB Group is made up of Scot JCB, Scot Agri, SPS and SIA.

Scot JCB has been supplying and servicing JCB machinery throughout Scotland and the North of England for over 60 years. We sold our first machine in 1956 and have grown into a highly specialised machinery distribution company operating through a network of 17 depots from Fraserburgh in the Northeast of Scotland to Carnforth in Lancashire. Scot JCB is the largest JCB distributor in the UK and we pride ourselves on providing our customers with world class service.

This role involves:

• Proactively managing used equipment stock
• Accurately valuing used equipment
• Ensuring our systems contain accurate information on machines and good quality photos
• Selling used equipment overseas
• Prospecting and maintaining overseas sales customers
• Organising equipment transport
• Working closely with auctions and traders
• Gathering market intelligence and producing reports for the board
• Working with our Marketing team to advertise used equipment online and with print press
• Working closely with the wider sales team

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in the plant equipment industry
• Strong sales experience and product knowledge
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Good IT skills
• Ability to build rapport with colleagues and customers
• The ability to multi-task, prioritise, and meet deadlines
• The ability to work on your own initiative to produce results
