Compressor Engineer

Scot Industrial Air are looking for a skilled Compressor Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. As an Engineer with SIA, you will visit a variety of customer sites throughout the area to carry out maintenance, repairs and services on our customers machines to a high standard.

This role would also involve working in the office when the Service Supervisor is out of the business, therefore this is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to take the next step in their career.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Carrying out fault finding inspections and repairs of compressors at customer sites and in our depot as required - in conformance with manufacturer’s specification and any regulations affecting their use
• Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment
• Accurately completing all relevant paperwork on a handheld device
• Submitting daily timesheets and job cards
• Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department
• Working closely with the service supervisor
• Helping to train and mentor apprentice engineers

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in a similar role working on Compressed Air equipment
• Relevant qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ qualifications
• Experience in industrial compressed air, compressed air systems and installations, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
• The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment
• Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers
• Good IT skills
• A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
