Position Overview & Specifications

Clinical Group Business Change Manager (BCM) and BCM Lead [Fixed Term or Secondment]

A brand new acute hospital, alongside transformed clinical services to provide the best care for patients and our communities – that is what is driving Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. To ensure the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, that will open in Spring 2024 is a success, we are building a high-quality team, dedicated to the new hospital programme for the next two years. This is a once in a career opportunity to play a significant role transforming clinical pathways, building a legacy of regeneration and creating #morethanahospital.

We have recently recruited a team of Business change Managers BCM) to work within the Clinical groups leading on clinical and operational projects, focusing on the implementation of new clinical services and operational readiness for the into the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

We require a further BCM to work within the Women and Child Health Clinical Group and who will also undertake the role of BCM Lead, managing the team of Business Change Managers. The successful candidate will provide expertise in the management of change and operational readiness for the transition of services into MMUH, researching best practice methodology and supporting teams on the implementation of new ways of working.

Key tasks and responsibilities will be as follows:
Provide management and leadership to the Business Change Managers team

Support delivery of an efficient and effective workforce for now and into the new hospital

Demand and capacity planning is accurate and informs service design.

Optimisation of services and achievement of best practice standards.

Support performance delivery against national and local targets/key performance indicators/outcome measures.

Leading/facilitating service redesign activities.

Providing coaching to enable service redesign knowledge transfer for operational managers/speciality leads in Clinical groups alongside the development of a continuous improvement culture.

Developing a programme management approach to visually support progress and change.

Aligning projects with other corporate teams to prevent duplication and repetition.
