The successful candidate will be supported to develop their skills and knowledge within the clinical setting and supported within the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework). The Emergency Department fully supports all of our nursing staff in their career development and you will have the opportunity to be considered for the TNA (Trainee Nursing Associate).
The Emergency Department has a development programme for health care assistants from Band 3 to Band 4. You will be encouraged to continue to develop your skills to include application of plaster of paris casts by the registered plaster practitioners that the Emergency Department employs. There is a strong emphasis on development and training, as well as local mentor group support.
What tasks will you do?
As aHealth Care Support Worker you will help patients feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible. You'll work under the guidance of a healthcare professional such as a nurse and your job will vary depending on the ward you are based, but overall a typical day as aHealth Care Support Workerwill involve:
- Helping patients wash, dress and go to the toilet, make beds
- Serve meals and help our patients eat and drink
- Contribute to patient assessments
