CAD Technician - Gateshead

About The Role

You will be the given the opportunity to work on a broad range of infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

To carry out this role successfully, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

• Work as part of the design team, seek supervision where necessary and be prepared to lead the work of other team members as required.
• Ensure all your drafting output is in accordance with company procedures and CAD standards.
• Effectively communicate with other engineers and technicians in the design team.
• Ably prepare and modify technical drawings and schedules of a moderate level of complexity based on designs supplied by Engineers.
• Effectively use the drafting tools and software a technician has at their disposal such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microstation.
• Develop Revit/Synchro and other advanced CAD and BIM skills as part of professional development.
• Issue drawings to engineers and manage electronic information including preparation and issue of drawing and document schedules.

About You

Essential Criteria:

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil/Structural Engineering or a relevant subject.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience of technical drawing using CAD in a consultancy environment.
• Good level of knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering drafting and practice, particularly Temporary Works.
• Ability to read and understand “multi-discipline” drawings and create general arrangement drawings and detail under the guidance of an Engineer.
• Good understanding of civil and structural engineering terminology.
• Ability in the use of at least one common engineering CAD software package such AutoCAD, REVIT or Microstation.
