Position Overview & Specifications

Quality Manager / Sheetmetal Inspector (Sunnyvale)

Responsible Metal Fab, Inc is a sheet metal and fabrication company with our facility in Sunnyvale, CA. We currently have an immediate opening for a Quality Manager / Sheet Metal Inspector reporting to the CEO. This is a direct hire position and comes with a full benefits package after a 60 day introductory period.

Purpose: Responsible Metal Fab requires a dedicated Quality Manager for our First shift in our Sunnyvale, CA location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the quality process for the company and for determining product acceptance both in-process and at final assembly by inspecting parts per customer drawings and workmanship standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment

· Train production line staff in proper production practices and basic quality assessment

· Track, record, and maintain quality assurance data

· Manage quality process including ISO 9001-2015 and other quality standards as needed.

· Collaborate with management and production staff to achieve the most efficient and accurate quality assessment.

· Inspection of flat pattern before production to assure parts is programmed to meet print.

· Measure and check dimensions for in-process production from punch, laser and bending brake to assure parts meet print. Visual inspection of samples provided is required.

· Interprets customer drawings, manufacturing drawings, diagrams and BOMs in approving or rejecting in-process products and final products.

· Processing inspection data into First Article inspection Reports.

· Inspect or measure finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers or micrometers.

· Study blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 4+ years’ experience preferred

· Previous experience with First Article inspection in quality control is a plus.

· Strong mechanical aptitude. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related field.

· Must have excellent math skills. Shop math test will be required.

· Must be able to read/interpret product drawings and symbols noted.

· Knowledge of GD&T

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

· Experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma)

· Previous metal fabrication or machine shop environment

· Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as to work independently.

· Good verbal communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

· Proficient in English

· Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.

· Self-motivated
