Music Reviewer

Passionate about music and writing? Are you London based? Are you a wordsmith who is keen to exercise those writing skills as a Renowned For Sound album and live music reviewer?

What type of person we are looking for? Are you..

- able to write outside of your preferred music genre interests

- able to write at least one review per week

- able to write or adjust your writing to suit the current style of Renowned For Sound

- aware of artists from the 80's, 90's as well as current acts

The primary task will be covering album releases weekly but the ideal candidate will also love attending shows and be open to reviewing shows around London from time to time as well as the occasional interview (if interested in this).

These positions are unpaid however you will gain experience writing for a successful online publication and free gig tickets (when covering something). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about writing and music, first and foremost.

We don't need to see your resume for these roles but we do want to know a little about the person who is applying so send along a cover letter with a brief overview of your experience in the world of music and/or writing (if you have any) and anything that gives us an idea of why you want to fill this role.

We also need to be able to see that applicants are able to review and write in a style fitting to the website so, if we think you would be a good fit for Renowned For Sound we will get you to review two records via Spotify from a list that we send you to see how you approach reviewing contrasting genres. It's as easy as that.

NB: This is not an intern position but a regular volunteer/contributor role writing for a not-for-profit website. Applicants MUST be based in London. Only applications accompanied by a suitable cover letter will be considered. We are unable to reply to applications received without a cover letter.
