National Account Controller – Aldi & Lidl - Refresco UK, Commercial

Kegworth, Derbyshire (just off J24 of the M1)

Refresco, the world’s leading independent soft drinks manufacturer seek a driven, passionate, and engaging, National Account Controller for our critical volume grocer Aldi & Lidl private label accounts . This role is based from our Kegworth Head Office, just off junction 24 of the M1. Refresco are fast paced, hugely customer driven, always looking to innovate, develop and improve what we do. This is a great opportunity for a commercial professional in food and/or drinks, to grow your business knowledge and experience by gaining a deep understanding of the relationship between sales and end-to-end supply chain.

About the Role

This is a senior influential role in our commercial team, reporting to the Commercial Director and managing Refresco UK’s A;di & Lidle accounts and indirectly M&S and Waitrose plus our Exports activity. You will have full responsibility for maintaining our already fantastic client relationships with these key customers and optimising all aspects of the account performance across the various categories that we operate in. You will manage a National Account Manager and a National Account Executive.

As National Account Controller here are some of your key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensure annual volume and revenue targets are on track and take steps to exceed targets or address shortfalls, reporting these to the senior leadership team.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with your customer account teams.
  • Regularly communicate with, and present to, production, supply chain, finance and technical to ensure supply and demand forecasting accuracy, short, medium and long term.
  • Implement strategies to grow performance and profit on your accounts.
  • Control and allocate advertising and promotions budgets.
  • Work with colleagues to deliver new product development and initiatives from concept to launch.
  • Lead your team effectively, coaching and developing, to improve their skillset and performance.

About You

You are an excellent communicator, including via presentations, and will be adept at influencing and negotiating both internally within Refresco and externally with your customers.

On the technical side you will need previous experience as a National Account Controller or Senior National Account Manager in food or drinks manufacturing, ideally with leading UK retailers, and you can give examples of profitable and sustainable sales delivery and marketing campaigns. You need experience of retailer own label new product development (NPD), and large-scale food production manufacturing processes such as just in time deliveries (JIT) and vendor managed inventory (VMI).

Working hours are Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 5.00, Fridays 8.30 - 4.00 and we have free, onsite parking.
