Red Nucleus is hiring a Medical Editor/Junior Medical Writer to join our global team! This role is based out of our London, UK office.

Red Nucleus
is an award-winning learning and development agency supporting the life sciences market. Based on strong client demand, we are rapidly growing our London office. We are currently seeking a hybrid Medical Editor/Junior Medical Writer as passionate about the written word as they are seeing it brought to life in the final format. In addition to strong editorial skills we are also looking for an interest in writing about all aspects of medicine – anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, treatment, clinical study results, and the market.

This is a full-time position with flexible working opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Proofreading and editing a variety of deliverables (e.g. e-learning modules, simulations, e-blasts, mobile applications, infographics, workshops, scripts, storyboards, patient journey videos, and podcasts) to ensure correctness, consistency, functionality, clarity and quality
  • Referencing materials according to AMA or equivalent UK formats, and reference format checking
  • Researching and writing learning and development materials for healthcare (pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or biotech) sales representatives and medical science liaisons
  • Consulting with clients and subject matter experts to understand content and subject complexities
  • Attending review meetings with client teams and medical/legal/regulatory teams
  • Collaborating with project/account managers, instructional designers, graphic artists, programmers, and quality assurance specialists to ensure clients’ needs are met and the end product is accurate and of high quality

About You

  • BSc/BA in life sciences, pharmacology, medicine, journalism, or writing
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical editor/quality coordinator (agency setting is a plus but not required)
  • Exceptional writing, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing projects, tasks, priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • High level of motivation, ability to deal with pressure, and adaptability
  • Ability to work in our central London office
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Ability to distill complex scientific information and terminology for all audiences, using words and complementary images
  • Ability to conduct necessary research and to reference materials according to AMA or equivalent UK formats

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Knowledge and experience in the life sciences industry
  • Healthcare (pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or biotechnology) sales training experience a plus
  • Experience in writing for multimedia
  • Advanced degree e.g. MSc, PhD
